Fort Worth is divided into 4 bulk waste collection zones (Blue, Yellow, Orange, Green). Collections run Monday-Saturday during the assigned week for each zone. Blue zone: 1st Monday of month; Yellow zone: 2nd Monday; Orange zone: 3rd Monday; Green zone: 4th Monday. Place items at curb no earlier than 6 PM Friday before scheduled week and no later than 7 AM Monday of collection week. Items placed out too early may be subject to code violations.

All recyclables must be empty, clean, and dry. Cart lid must be completely closed - overstuffed carts will not be picked up. Place blue recycling cart at curb by 7 AM on pickup day. Do NOT bag recyclables - place items loosely in cart. Keep lids attached to bottles when possible. Recycling is collected weekly on the same day as regular garbage. Holiday Schedule

Fort Worth observes collection schedule changes for the following holidays: Thanksgiving Day (November 27, 2025) and Christmas Day (December 25, 2025) - NO collection on these days. Collections normally scheduled for Thursday will shift to Friday; Friday collections shift to Saturday during holiday weeks. New Year's Day (January 1, 2026) - NO collection. Similar delay pattern applies. Residents are allowed TWO EXTRA BAGS of garbage (at no additional fee) on their first pickup day following Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day. All four Drop-Off Stations and the Environmental Collection Center are closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day. Important Information

Fort Worth Environmental Services provides curbside collection to single-family homes and residences with 1-4 units within Fort Worth city limits. Collection takes place Monday-Friday, 7 AM - 7 PM. Garbage carts (brown), recycling carts (blue), and yard waste must be placed at curb by 7 AM on your scheduled collection day. Carts may be placed out after 6 PM the night before. Retrieve carts by midnight on collection day. Carts should be 3 feet apart and away from obstacles (cars, mailboxes, power lines). Fort Worth has four Drop-Off Stations where residents can bring household garbage, recyclables, yard waste, bulk items, electronics, tires (limit 4 per 6 months), scrap metal, and household hazardous waste. Proof of residency required (water bill and driver's license). Use the Fort Worth Garbage & Recycling mobile app or visit the city website to look up your specific collection schedule by address. Missed collection must be reported within 24 hours via MyFW app, 311, (817) 392-1234, or email 311@fortworthtexas.gov. Fort Worth's Residential Food Waste Composting Program allows subscribers to drop off food scraps at 19+ collection sites city-wide ($20 one-time fee includes starter kit with 5-gallon bucket and countertop pail).
