Blue recycling carts are provided at no additional cost and collected every other week. All recyclables must be empty, clean, and dry. Do NOT bag recyclables - place items loosely in cart. Cart lid should close completely; overstuffed carts may not be collected. Extra clean recyclables (up to 64 gallons) can be placed next to cart in clear bags at no charge. Excess recyclables over 64 gallons beyond the cart will incur a $9.01 fee. Contaminated recycling (containing non-recyclables) will result in a $33.49 fee. Keep lids attached to bottles when recycling. Place cart at curb by 7 AM on collection day. Recycling collection falls on your trash day, but only occurs every other week.
Holiday Schedule
Arlington observes collection schedule changes for the following holidays: New Year's Day (January 1), Independence Day (July 4), Labor Day (September), Thanksgiving Day (November), and Christmas Day (December 25). There is NO trash or recycling collection on these major holidays. When a holiday falls on a weekday, collections may be delayed by one day for the remainder of the week. Residents whose collection day falls on the holiday should place carts out the following day. For holiday-specific schedules, check the Republic Services website, call 817-317-2000, or watch for notices from the City of Arlington. The Arlington Landfill is also closed on major holidays.
