Free service for Cincinnati residents. Must call (513) 591-6000 or use the 311Cincy app/website to schedule collection in advance. Items will be collected on your regular collection day or on Fridays. Place items at curb by 6:00 AM on collection day. Items under 40 lbs and smaller than 3x2x2 feet (up to 3 items) do not require scheduling and can be placed next to garbage cart.

Cincinnati uses Rumpke single-stream recycling - all recyclable items go in the cart together, no sorting required. The city provides recycling carts: 96-gallon carts (46" tall) for households of 3+ people, 64-gallon carts (41.5" tall) for 1-2 person households, and 35-gallon carts (37.5" tall) for residents with stair-only access or space constraints. Place recycling cart at curb no later than 6:00 AM on collection day but no earlier than 5:00 PM the day before. Collection occurs between 6:00 AM and 5:00 PM. Remove cart from curb after collection. Keep carts 3 feet from other containers and obstructions.
Holiday Schedule
Cincinnati observes 7 holidays with NO trash, recycling, yard waste, or bulk collection: New Year's Day (January 1), Martin Luther King Jr. Day (January 20), Presidents Day (February 17), Labor Day (September 1), Veterans Day (November 11), Thanksgiving Day (November 27), and Christmas Day (December 25). When your regular collection day falls on an observed holiday, your trash will be collected the following day. Collections for the remainder of that week are delayed one day. Place carts at curb no later than 6:00 AM on your collection day but no earlier than 5:00 PM the day before. Remove carts from curb after collection is complete.
