Las Vegas uses single-stream recycling - all recyclables go together in one cart, no sorting required. Items must be empty, clean, and dry. Containers should be rinsed free of food residue. Do not bag recyclables - place items loosely in the cart. Cardboard boxes should be flattened. Carts must be placed at curbside by 5:00 AM on collection day. Lids must be closed. Republic Services provides wheeled carts in three sizes (35, 65, or 95 gallons). Contact Republic Services to request a different cart size or report damaged carts.

Holiday Schedule

Republic Services observes major holidays with adjusted collection schedules. When a holiday falls on a weekday, trash and recycling collection is typically delayed by one day for the remainder of the week. Holidays observed include: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day. If your regular collection day falls on or after a holiday, your pickup will be delayed by one day (e.g., Thursday collection moves to Friday, Friday moves to Saturday). Republic Services provides holiday schedule notifications via mail, website, and customer service. For the most current holiday schedule, visit the Republic Services website or call 702-735-5151.

Important Information

Republic Services of Southern Nevada provides comprehensive waste collection services to the City of Las Vegas and surrounding unincorporated areas of Clark County under a franchise agreement with the city. The company serves hundreds of thousands of residential customers across the Las Vegas Valley including Las Vegas, Henderson (portions), Summerlin, North Las Vegas (contract areas), and Laughlin. Las Vegas uses a 5-zone collection system with trash collected Monday through Friday depending on your zone. Collection begins as early as 5:00 AM, so all carts must be placed at the curb by that time. Carts should be placed at least 4 feet apart from other containers and obstacles. Maximum cart capacity should not exceed the weight limit (typically 200-250 lbs per cart). Residents can use the Republic Services address lookup tool on their website to verify their specific collection day. Only items inside the provided carts will be collected during regular service - additional bags or boxes left outside carts will not be picked up except during bulk collection weeks. Report missed pickups within 24 hours to 702-735-5151. Republic Services operates a state-of-the-art Material Recovery Facility (MRF) in Southern Nevada to process recyclables collected from residential routes.
