Holiday Schedule

Chandler recycling and trash collection is NOT collected on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day. When your regular collection day falls on one of these three holidays, place your container at the curb by 6:00 AM the following day, and all subsequent weekday collections that week shift one day later (e.g., Thursday moves to Friday, Friday moves to Saturday). For all other holidays (MLK Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Veterans Day, etc.), collection remains on the regular schedule with NO delays. The Recycling-Solid Waste Collection Center at 955 E. Queen Creek Rd is closed on all city-observed holidays: New Year's Day, MLK Day, Presidents Day, Easter, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving (Thursday and Friday), and Christmas Day.

Chandler emphasizes recycling education and waste reduction through programs and community outreach. Collection occurs between 6:00 AM and 5:00 PM - there is no guaranteed specific time as it varies based on truck capacity, traffic, weather, route changes, and street maintenance. Standard residential service includes weekly trash collection (black container) and weekly recycling collection (blue container). Containers must be at the curb by 6:00 AM on collection day or can be placed out after 6:00 PM the evening before. Containers must be removed from the curb by 9:00 AM the day after collection. Perishable garbage must be bagged and tied (includes food waste, animal waste, diapers, grass). Container lids must be closed with no protruding objects. Alley collection may occur on a different day than front collection - call 480-782-3510 to confirm. For properties not serviced by the City of Chandler, contact the company listed on your trash container. Use the free Recycle Coach app or city's InfoMap to find your specific collection day at chandleraz.gov. Report missed collections or service issues to 480-782-3510. The city processes recyclables at contracted Materials Recovery Facilities to maximize diversion from landfills.
